In the world of sports, the name ducking is not as popular as kayaking is, but basically they are the same thing with one small difference: the kayak type. Inflatable Kayaks (ducks) are more durable, lightweight and high performance whitewater boats that have revolutionized recreational river running. First-time kayakers can have fun paddling rapids with guidance, instruction and support from a professional guide. Crashing through waves and negotiating rapids on your own way, made this sport a great adventure. Don't just hold on for the ride -- be a part of the action! Flipping and swimming are always a possibility !!
Professional Guides and Equipment:
Rio Adventures`s partners and affiliated companies, use some of the best equipment available. Every paddler will be wearing a life vest and a helmet. Since the river temperature is usually cool, wetsuit rentals are also available separately. Experienced and knowledgeable guides will provide support and instruction on paddle techniques, river safety, assisted and self rescue.
Physical Condition - Outdoor Enthusiast:
This trip can be a bit challenging sometimes, depending on the season. A good level of physical fitness is required. Groups who enjoy vigorous hikes, mountain biking and other strenuous outdoor activities will generally perform better than others.
Best Season for ducking:
The best season for this sport is from December thru March, when summer brings lots of rain and increases the water level. Unlike rafting, ducking can be practiced during the whole year, thanks to it's light weight, narrower shape and maximum capacity of 02 people.
